Doctors & Staff

Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Kenmore Eye Care the leading provider of vision care products and services in Buffalo.


Dr. David Burstein

Dr. Burstein obtained his BA from SUNY at Buffalo in 1980 and his doctor of optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1984. He has been in private practice for 35 years and retired from the New York Air National Guard at the rank of Lt Colonel after 22 years of service. Dr. Burstein is a member of the American Optometric Association and is a past president of the Western New York Society of Optometrists. He specializes in difficult contact lens cases, which includes corneal pathologies such as keratoconus, grafts, and other corneal irregularities. He has lived in the Buffalo area for most of his life and enjoys restoring old cars, fishing, and spending time with his children. Dr. Burstein is currently available in our Kenmore office on Monday 10:00am-7:00pm, Tuesday 8:00am-11:00am, and Wednesday 8:00am-4:00pm.


Dr. Sandra Segerson

Dr. Segerson graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a BS in biology and earned her doctor of optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry.  A member of the American Optometric Association, Dr. Segerson joined our practice in 2010 after moving back to her hometown. She enjoys working with kids, fitting contact lenses, and treating dry eye. Dr. Segerson loves spending time with her husband, daughters, and dog. Dr. Segerson is currently available on Thursdays 1:00pm-4:00pm and Fridays 9:30am-4:00pm.


Sarah Hoover – Office Manager

Sarah has been with our practice since 2010 and obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Niagara University. She lives in Wheatfield and has a 14-year old daughter. She loves sloths, “adding to cart,” and coffee. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family.


Denise Molenda

Denise graduated in 1980 with an AAS in Fashion Merchandising Management from Bryant and Stratton. After many years working for Glickstein Jewelers, L.L.Bergers (Assistant Manager and Buyer), and Hit or Miss (Assistant Manager), she felt ready for a change. Denise has been at Kenmore Eye Care since 1999. She resides in Buffalo and enjoys football, music, summer, exciting casino adventures, and many other WNY activities and attractions.


Renata Dielman – Optician

Born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine, Renata relocated to Buffalo with her family when she was 25 years old. Renata had received her degree in Electrical Engineering from the Russian University but decided to attend college in the US for a more people-oriented degree. She graduated from ECC in 1998 with an AAS in Ophthalmic Dispensing and has been working at our Kenmore office since then. Renata resides in Tonawanda.


Diana Balconi – Optician

Diana moved to the United States from Russia in 1992 with her parents. She obtained an AAS in Ophthalmic Dispensing in 1998 from ECC North where she served as senior class vice president and graduated with honors. Diana started as an ophthalmic technician for an ophthalmologist before beginning her optical career at Amherst Eye Care in 2000. Over the past 19 years, she has been dedicated to making a difference in our patients’ lives. Diana enjoys spending time with friends and family, bowling, and raising her daughter.


Carla Nicole Carter – Optician  

Carla received her Opthalmic Dispensing Degree at Erie Community College in 2006. After graduating she was hired at LensCrafters, working as a certified lab tech for two years. In 2008 Carla relocated to New Orleans where she worked at an Optometrist office as a Licensed Optician and Office Manager for 9 years. Carla joined the Kenmore Eye Care team July 2017 after relocating back to Buffalo to assist in raising her grandson. She loves going to church, spending time with family, and shopping.


Judy Hoover

Judy is Sarah’s aunt, who came out of retirement in 2021 to assist the front desk at our Kenmore office. She enjoys spending time with her family including two grandchildren, coffee, cooking and working at Kenmore Eye Care!


Inna Leshchinskaya – Optician

Inna moved to Buffalo in 2002 and earned her ophthalmic dispensing degree from ECC in 2013. Prior to that, she attended beauty school in Russia and obtained her cosmetology license in New York State as well. Inna joined Kenmore Eye Care in the summer of 2015. She enjoys cats and shopping.


Bethany VanOcker – Receptionist

Bethany graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a BA in Psychology in 2016. She then moved back to the Buffalo area and worked with the city’s troubled youth before joining our practice in April 2017. She currently resides in the southtowns. Bethany enjoys being outdoors, cooking new recipes, and spending time with her family, including her 1 year old son.
